Pioneer unveils three professional plasma screens

Pioneer has introduced three new PDP-MXE20 screens, including 42in, 50in and 60in models available in black or silver. A redesigned deep waffle rib structure includes a switch to square pixels in the 50in and 60in models. Other features include a new dielectric layer (to improve panel efficiency), improved color filtering and phosphor and a new crystal emissive layer to improve luminance performance, brightness and discharge response.

A high-performance chip set manages the color output, scaling, GUI mix and other image processing technologies. Scaling performance is up-rated and image processing is further advanced with Pioneer’s i-Clear Drive, which adjusts (depending on the video signal) gray steps in darker areas to sharpen details. All models also feature low power consumption.
