Pharos integrates Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder with Mediator

Pharos has selected Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder video transcoding solution for integration with the Mediator v3 media management system.

The Pharos Mediator and Rhozet Carbon Coder solution has been deployed at international broadcaster ViaSat. Pharos selected Carbon Coder to improve the digital workflow by integrating previously disparate broadcast and IT technology systems.

Carbon Coder is used directly within the Mediator workflow to increase efficiency in content production for ViaSat’s many TV channels, which reach 100 million people across 24 European countries. These workflow improvements include enabling migration from legacy file formats, desktop HD spot-checking and quality control and digital file sharing with third-party post-production facilities that provide remote voice-over and subtitle services.
