Panasonic delivers universal SD/HD switcher

Panasonic has announced the availability of its low-cost, compact AV-HS300G SD/HD live production switcher.

The AV-HS300G is compatible with most major formats including 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 480/59.94i (NTSC) and 576/50i (PAL). With a compact, one-piece design and a 12V DC power supply, it fits easily into small production vans and remote trucks, and offers a portable switching solution for field production.

The switcher comes with six inputs (five HD/SD-SDI and one DVI/RGB), three HD/SD-SDI outputs and an Ethernet connection to import and store a background from a PC. HD analog component outputs are also standard.

Additional features include a tally output, RS-422 control and a built-in, 10-bit, six-channel frame synchronizer that adjusts automatically (with external Gen Lock synchronization available), and nine wipe patterns with three directional wipes.
