Pace launches HD PVR for cable, satellite

Pace Micro Technology launched the TDx850 HD personal video recorder in both satellite (TDS850) and cable (TDC850) versions at IBC2006.

The TDS850 comes with H.264 decoding and triple tuners, as well as Dolby Digital Plus. Dual DVB-S2 tuners enable the user to watch one channel while recording another, or record two channels while watching stored content. The third tuner is DVB-S compliant to enable a dedicated push-VOD service and enhanced electronic programming guide (EPG).

The TDC850 comes with H.264 decoding, Dolby Digital Plus and triple DVB-C tuners, enabling the end-user to record up to three different channels at the same time. The TDC850 also comes with an integrated DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem to enable full interactivity and triple play, as well as push-VOD services.

Both versions of this set-top box come with a minimum 250GB hard drive, which allows up to 60 hours of HD or 120 hours of SD.
