Orad unveils new PlayMaker HD/SD slow-motion server

Orad is featuring its new PlayMaker SD/HD multichannel, slow-motion video server at the NAB Show.

PlayMaker is designed to meet the challenges of live sports productions by providing high-quality ingest, synchronized slow-motion replay and playlist editing tools. PlayMaker is a turnkey solution providing high image quality coupled with high storage capacity.

PlayMaker deploys a completely new architecture. Its smart controller provides playlist and clip management with on-the-fly clip tagging and sorting tools. PlayMaker touch-screen technology enables faster and simpler operation and its dedicated communication protocol provides the operator with instant response to controller commands and reliable operation.

PlayMaker relies on the JPEG2000 codec. PlayMaker's disk capacity provides more than 60 hours in HD at 100Mb/s and more than 120 hours in SD mode at 50Mb/s.
