Online guide to HD lenses matches glass, camera, application

The proliferation of HD cameras ranging from high-end digital cinematography cameras to economical camcorders is leaving some users in a quandary over the best HD lens for their particular production applications.

A new online resource from the Marcomm Group seeks to clear things up. The Web site www.HDCameraLensGuide.com examines how to maximize the performance of an HD camera for any of seven different production applications.

Featuring an easy-to-use, fully interactive design, site users simply select their camera brand and model number along with their specific production application. A list of recommended HD lenses is then automatically displayed, with specific information on each lens.

Camera brands users can enter include: Thomson Grass Valley, Hitachi, Ikegami, JVC, Panasonic and Sony. Production applications include: news, documentary, sports, events, commercial, corporate and reality.
