New Polecam Flash XDR HD Xstream delivers solid-state recording

Polecam will unveil its Flash XDR HD Xtream solid-state digital recorder and FishFace submersible pan-and-tilt camera housing at IBC2008.

The Flash XDR HD Xtream requires no tape or disc drive and captures HD video to CompactFlash memory cards. The portable device can be mounted at the rear of a Polecam boom unit. It can store 164 minutes of 50Mb/s MPEG 4:2:2 1920 x 1080 HD video on four hot-swappable 16GB memory cards. It also supports MPEG2 4:2:2 at 100 Mb/s and 160Mb/s as well has HDV.

Polecam's FishFace can be used to a depth of 8.8ft on the Polecam or independently down to 22ft. Its carbon fiber support arm incorporates drainage holes that allow the boom to flood and clear quickly. Features include 360-degree pan capability and unrestricted movement.
