New Digital Rapids MediaMesh offers digital content distribution via IP, satellite

Digital Rapids launched its new MediaMesh content distribution system at IBC2009 in Amsterdam.

Combining a scalable delivery framework with flexible receiving appliances, MediaMesh provides efficient, automated distribution of digital media between content providers, contributors, aggregators and distribution partners. The MediaMesh content delivery system enables digital distribution of HD, SD and digital cinema content over public and private terrestrial IP networks and satellite. Built on the Digital Rapids C2 data delivery framework, MediaMesh supports unicast, multicast and hybrid delivery models.

MediaMesh RX receiving appliances feature verified receipt, visual quality control validation, inventory management and content repurposing. Transfer to third-party servers and playout are tightly integrated in an intuitive graphical interface. Integrated transcoding and repackaging capabilities allow received media to be conformed to local formatting requirements.
