'60 Minutes' buys Nucoda HD for color grading

Digital Vision, a supplier of picture enhancement systems for film and television post production, announced that CBS has purchased a Nucoda HD system for use on its long running news magazine, “60 Minutes.”

The Nucoda HD color grading system will be integrated into the 60 Minutes post production facilities at CBS in New York.

Digital Vision’s Nucoda HD offers comprehensive tapeless mastering and grading for broadcast, Blu-ray Disk (BD) and all high-definition applications and integrates into a broad range of workflows including Avid’s ISIS storage system, which is also used by “60 Minutes.”

Designed specifically for broadcast environments, the Nucoda HD system will enable native MXF and Quicktime grading and mastering as part of the “60 Minutes” workflow as well as facilitate the broadcast’s transition to both tapeless production and high-definition broadcast.

The system designed for CBS includes a Data Conform assist station for ingest, conform and layoff as well as a DVS SAN and DVO Enhance. This configuration creates a turn-key solution for “60 Minutes,” which enables simultaneous ingest and color grading.
