LIN TV stations to be carried by Verizon’s FiOS network

Verizon’s FiOS video service has made a deal to carry the primary analog and digital signals of LIN TV’s stations in their coverage areas. Multicast channels are not included in the deal and LIN’s HD signals may be downconverted to a lower resolution.

FiOS service is now available in Virginia, home to LIN’s WAVY-TV and WVBT-TV that both serve the Norfolk market. These are the first stations to air on FiOS under the deal. Each of LIN’s 18 stations will transition to FiOS as the service launches in their markets.
