Let It Wave rolls out Bandlet technology for HDTV upconversion

Let It Wave has unveiled an HDTV upconverter that incorporates patented bandlet algorithms in a field programmable gate array (FPGA).

Developed for post-production, broadcast and consumer product manufacturers, Let It Wave's technology creates sharp HD images from SD video content, restoring details hidden in the original SD source material. Let It Wave's upconversion produces no flicker or jaggy artifacts.

A prototype implemented on an FPGA from Altera will be presented at NAB2006. This prototype includes upconversion from SD to HD with de-interlacing and scaling, down and cross conversion, and spatio-temporal bandlet noise removal and enhancement.

See the Let It Wave demonstration at NAB2006 in booth C11028 or visit www.letitwave.com.
