Irish broadcaster acquires Ross Video multidefinition switchers

RTÉ, Ireland’s National Television and Radio Broadcaster, is purchasing Ross Video Vision QMD/X multidefinition production switchers and OverDrive automated production control systems for recent studio upgrades.

RTÉ issued an EU tender for news automation production control systems for its two broadcast facilities in Dublin and Galway. The technology will provide more sophisticated productions with tight integration into the RTÉ Avid iNews newsroom editorial system, offering reduced operator error and increased news coverage.
