Intelsat Satellite delivers NHL in HD to cable

Intelsat, one of the world’s largest providers of commercial satellite services, has announced a contract with the NHL Network for distribution services of its new HD channel.

The transmission agreement is for full-time Intelsat capacity throughout the continental United States via the Galaxy 15 satellite, which reaches thousands of cable headends.

The NHL Network joins a list of anchor tenants, such as FOX, ESPN and HBO, who rely on Intelsat’s Galaxy neighborhood for transmission of their HD programming. Globally, Intelsat currently supports more than 26 HD channels.
