HDFest to playback all hi-def screenings with DivX HD

This year's New York and London HDFEST events will use DivX HD for all playback of festival content.

HDFEST, a high-definition film festival, screens films created exclusively with HD technology and plays all festival content exclusively in high definition. HDFEST New York takes place Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at the Goldcrest Screening Room in New York City. HDFEST London takes place Oct. 3-4 in conjunction with the Raindance Film Festival at the UGC Shaftesbury Theatre.

Both festival events will include HD panel discussions on HD filmmaking along with screenings of HD content taking advantage of DivX's technology for playback. DivX HD compression delivers 720p HD video at 4Mb/s, allowing for an entire DivX HD movie to fit on a single standard DVD.

DivX HD allows films to screen in high-definition resolution using DivX Certified high-definition DVD players that are currently available.
