Gefen introduces GefenTV wireless HDMI extender

At IBC2009, Gefen unveiled the GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60GHz Extender, which supports uncompressed delivery of 1080p/60 full HD video and multichannel audio in the HDMI format.

Using WirelessHD radio technology from SiBeam, the product enables installers to mount a flat-panel HDTV anywhere and transmit the HDMI signal from a Blu-ray player, set-top box or gaming device up to 30ft away. A line-of-sight recommendation makes the product best suited for in-room installations.

The product supports most HDMI features and up to eight channels of 24-bit, 192KHz LPCM audio. Full HDCP compliance and CEC protocols are also supported.

The GefenTV Wireless for HDMI 60GHz Extender comes with small sender and receiver units, each powered, that are connected to the HD video source and the extended display.
