Fujinon goes long for budget-conscious sports production

Fujinon has added a new 50x HD telephoto to its lineup of ENG-style 2/3in HD camera lenses, designed for regional, minor league and collegiate sports coverage. The 45lb XA50X9.5B ESM lens features an integral camera supporter that requires no additional camera lens support, resulting in a considerable cost savings over other designs that require a buildup kit or separate camera/lens support.

Complete with a standard remote-control 2x extender, the XA50X9.5B ESM’s magnification and 9.5-475mm focal length can provide a tight shot at 100ft. The maximum relative aperture is 1.7 from 9.5-311mm and 2.6 at 475mm. The minimum object distance is 9.8ft from the front of the lens. Built-in moisture absorbing technology reduces fogging caused by humidity and improves reliability.

The new lens also features Fujinon’s Digi Power digital servo control system, which enhances the performance of both zoom and focus functions.
