ESE highlights new HD-488 time code reader/generator/video inserter

At the NAB Show, ESE featured its new HD-488 and HD-488/SD time code reader, generator and video inserter for HD-SDI video.

Linear Time Code (LTC) and RP-188 time code are both read and generated by the HD-488. The unit accepts a multitude of HD formats. SD is available with the HD-488/SD, which allows the unit to accept 4:2:2 (525 and 625 line) digital video signals.

The inserter mode can superimpose time and/or user bits onto video with alphanumeric characters. As many as 30 characters of text also can be superimposed onto video. Users can display time, time and user bits or text on up to three different windows, which are independent of each other.
