Discovery HD to present high-def hurricanes

In September 2004 Hurricanes Frances and Ivan devastated Florida. While most people evacuated the coastal areas to avoid the hazardous conditions, storm-chasing journalist Warren Faidley placed himself directly in the path of both storms.

Discovery HD’s “Risk Takers: Hurricane Hunter” is the first major television production to feature a professional storm chaser shot in HD.

According to Faidley, the crews shooting the hurricanes “did some incredible work under extreme conditions” but at one point nearly lost their lives.

The show will air Sunday, July 24.
