CloseVU to debut technology for adapting live HD, SD video to mobile screens

At IBC2007, CloseVU will debut CloseVU Live with Smart Zoom, which allows broadcasters to adapt live HD and SD video for mobile and other small-screen devices.

CloseVU is targeting the tool at sports broadcasters and other producers of fast moving live content. To operate it, users click on the object or part of the field they want to make larger. The Smart Zoom technology focuses on the object of interest and within a few seconds computes the proper framing and parameters and fine-tunes and stabilizes the image to be properly scaled and formatted for mobile screens. The CloseVU Live system can be integrated directly into the production workflow using SDI or analog video connectors.

The company’s flagship mobile image adaptation product, CloseVU Producer, made its debut at NAB2007 in April.
