BMW owners love HDTVs, study say

Owner of BMWs in the United States are far more likely to have an HDTV and other high-tech gadgets than the general public, according to the results of a new study from Scarborough Research.

The finding, part of the Scarborough Research/RAB Automotive Study, was released last week in Dallas at the Annual RAB Conference.

BMW owners are more likely than the national average to have personal technologies, such as iPods/MP3 players and PDAs, and new entertainment media, including HDTV, DVRs and digital cable service.

The study indexed the ownership of various high-tech devices and services. An index ranking of 100 was established as the national average. When it came to HDTV ownership, BMW owners were indexed at 237.
