Bluebell intros mux/demux system

Bluebell has added the TDM-300TA/RA cards to its expanding range of broadcast fiber-optic interfaces found on its BC Series modules.

Responding to the needs of broadcasters that need an increasing number of feeds between mobile production trucks and other venues, the TDM-300 offers multiple broadcast services on one single-mode fiber.

The card fits in a 60mm x 100mm footprint. It multiplexes four digital video streams including one HD signal plus eight analog audio channels, two RS-232 and two RS-422 signals onto a single optical wavelength.

Cards can be supplied with different wavelengths providing bidirectional links over the same fiber, and low latency ensures that the cards are suited for live broadcast applications.

The TDM-300 is also available in CWDM versions allowing up to 16 electrically multiplexed cards. There's a potential of 16 HD, 48 SD, 128 audio and 32 data signals to be carried on a single fiber. A video-only variant with one HD/SD-SDI plus three SD-SDI signals is also available.
