Baton Rouge TV magazine show turns to Panasonic AG-DVX100A cameras

“The Scott Rogers Around Town Weekend TV Show” is shot using three Panasonic AG-DVX100A 3-CCD DV cinema cameras.

Over the past year, “The Scott Rogers Around Town Weekend TV Show,” an upstart TV magazine show shot on a shoestring budget, has charmed Baton Rouge, LA, residents and become the market’s number one-rated cable offering.

A production of 1stCo, “Around Town” is shot with Panasonic AG-DVX100A 3-CCD DV cinema cameras used in both studio and EFP configurations.

After successful appearances on several network shows, “Around Town” host Scott Rogers and 1stCo decided in October 2004 to produce their own weekend show. 1stCo and Rogers budgeted $30,000 for the entire project, including lighting, sets and scenery.

The show was initially shot with only two DVX100As. But after three months, a third camera was added.

The AG-DVX100A is a MiniDV 3-CCD camcorder with CineSwitch technology that supports 480i/60 (NTSC), cinema-style 480p/24fps and 480p/30fps image capture. It offers extensive auto and manual controls and a CineGamma curve that emulates the look of film.

During taping, the three cameras are used on simple fluid head tripods on basic dollies. In the field, the show shoots in 30fps.
