ArabSat to broadcast first Middle East HDTV station

ArabSat will broadcast MEB-HD, the HD channel produced at the Middle East Broadcasters Conference and Exposition, MEB 2005. This station will be available Dec. 8-10.

MEB-HD is one component of a larger event that will also feature a series of media conferences, a broadcast technology exhibition, a programming exhibition, free technical seminars and more. MEB 2005, sponsored by ArabSat, Al Arabiya, Selevision, and the Monroe Hotel, will take place at BIEL in Beirut, Lebanon.

MEB-HD will be the first fully functioning HDTV station in the Middle East. More than 30 companies from North America, Europe and Asia are donating equipment and services to construct and operate this station.
