WSKG digitize library with Crispin AchiveManager

The Crispin ArchiveManager controls RAID and DVD-RAM.
Crispin, a provider of broadcast automation products, has sold its ArchiveManager content management software to WSKG-TV, a Binghamton, NY, non-profit public television station.

WSKG selected Crispin’s ArchiveManager to digitize and store its vast library of locally produced programs. The station has been producing local documentaries since its inception in 1968.

ArchiveManager manages the storage of these programs on a mix of RAID drives and DVD RAM cartridges for long-term archiving. All material can quickly be retrieved for airing and dubbing.

The Crispin system was sold through SignaSys, a San Jose, CA systems integrator responsible for the station’s digital master control rebuild. The project includes Omneon servers and NVISION routing controlled by Crispin System 2000 automation, enabling the station to transmit HD signals as well as multiple channels of SD.
