WFTS-TV selects Crispin for news playback

WFTS-TV, a Tampa, FL, ABC affiliate, is using Crispin automation to support news playback, media ingest and control of one channel for on-air playback. The Crispin solution includes three workstations, each focused on a specific task.

Crispin’s NewsPlayX application supports live news operations. It interfaces to Avid’s iNews to receive rundown information and dynamic updates. Rundown information is received by NewsPlayX and is presented to WFTS for playback control. The NewsPlayX GUI is intuitive and fully configurable to match WFTS’ control room and news department requirements. The interface provides visual confirmation of the rundown, displaying clip status, name, comments, duration, clip source and device number.

WFTS’ ingest workstation uses Crispin's Dubber application to control multiple source devices, allowing them to acquire and prepare video assets for air.
