Thomson launches content prep and distribution services for delivery to mobile

Thomson is now offering mobile content preparation and distribution capabilities at its Technicolor Content Services locations in Glendale, CA, and Perivale, London, to specifically support content owners, including film studios, broadcasters, online delivery channels and wireless carriers.

The two facilities, which are already equipped with state-of-the-art production and post-production technologies, will oversee the preparation and optimization of a wide range of digital entertainment content, including movies, TV episodes, and music videos, for distribution to mobile devices. Thomson has built an extensive global electronic distribution infrastructure through which the company will deliver mobile content to online delivery services and the headends of wireless operators and telecommunications firms for final transmission to mobile customers.
