SportVU motion tracking to be demonstrated at IBC

SportVU will demonstrate the latest version of its motion tracking system at IBC2007. SportVU combines its motion tracking and image processing software with standard hardware to generate real-time data for digital, schematic representations of key stats and game patterns.

The live data from the SportVU system is used to calculate team and personal stats as well as provide tactical analysis tools that can be broadcast over the air and in stadium. Results can be integrated with stations’ graphics systems to deliver insightful analytical views.

Mexican broadcaster Televisa has successfully tested SportVU technology for player tracking during soccer broadcasts. The software is easily adaptable to other sports, including American football, ice hockey, cricket and more.
