Siemens BS deploys Anevia for BBC IPTV services

IPTV technology provider Anevia and Siemens Business Services will deploy their solutions in BBC head offices for the introduction of an internal IPTV service for the BBC staff. The service allows staff to view channels from desktop PCs and through IP set-top boxes (STBs). The service offers more than 100 radio and TV channels including worldwide and English TV channels.

Siemens is deploying Anevia’s Flamingo series for satellite and DTT channel broadcast and Sunbird for internal channel broadcast from analog signals. Flamingo retains the satellite video quality and streams it directly over IP, without encoding or transcoding.
