SeaChange expands broadcast TV platforms at Network 18 In India

CNN IBN, part of Network 18 in India, has expanded its existing SeaChange digital video platform with the addition of a nearline storage archive and new play-to-air capabilities. SeaChange technology is helping the international news outlet deliver programming to more than 28 million households in India.

The SeaChange ML1G nearline storage server has been integrated with CNN IBN’s Avid Interplay newsroom system to provide archive storage for news production within the operation. A Front Porch Digital DIVA content management system allows Avid files to be stored on the SeaChange server and also drives content to SeaChange’s Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaCluster (BML/MCL) play-to-air platform. Network 18 has repurposed its original SeaChange play-to-air system to serve in a backup capacity.
