SeaChange eases move to tapeless broadcast workflows with MSV 1000 stand-alone media server

SeaChange International has introduced the MediaServer 1000 (MSV 1000) stand-alone multichannel ingest and playout server.

The MSV 1000 provides up to 10 channels of HD ingest and playout or 12 channels of SD ingest and playout in configurations that include 5TB of RAID 6-protected SATA or 1.5TB of RAID 5-protected flash memory storage in a 2RU package. The integrated software codecs can natively support a broad range of popular tapeless formats, including Avid DNxHD, DV100, IMX and MPEG-2.

The MSV 1000 can operate as a stand-alone system for simple ingest and playout or be combined with SeaChange’s BML and DDN’s S2A to expand into a shared-storage system without the need for file transfers. In addition, the versatile MSV 1000 can also operate in a disaster recovery or business continuity role, serving as an emergency backup to primary ingest and playout systems in a broadcast operation.
