SAMMA Solo extends format, wrapper handling

SAMMA Systems demonstrated the expanded capabilities of Solo 2.0 at the recent annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). Solo 2.0 handles more formats, has new automated presets to manage multiple inputs and outputs, and provides more archiving value than earlier models.

Formats available with Solo 2.0 include JPEG2000, MPEG-1/2/4, uncompressed, Flash 8 and Windows Media. Three wrappers are also available: MXF for interoperability, QuickTime for Apple applications and AVI file for Windows Media applications. In addition, multiple combinations of all these outputs are available and can be produced simultaneously with one pass.
