SABC chooses OmniBus Colossus for premier channels

South African Broadcasting has chosen OmniBus' Colossus as the automation system for its upgraded Johannesburg playout facility. SABC's Colossus system will provide transmission of the South African national broadcaster's three premium channels, SABC 1, 2 and 3, along with a spare channel for training.

Expected to go on the air in 2009, the Colossus system will control Omneon servers at the broadcaster's upgraded facility and provide an enhanced, automated workflow with cache management and G3 desktops for flexible, component-based functionality.
