Octopus announces Field Reporter and Video Twister

Octopus has announced new features for the Octopus5 newsroom system, plus two new products, Field Reporter and Video Twister.

Field Reporter is a platform-independent client. Freelance reporters, video reporters or producers can prepare and save stories, prompt anchors, and create and attach video packages to their feeds remotely from the newsroom. Users can then use the Internet to send offline stories, scripts and video packages back to the Octopus system at the studio. There, other staff can edit, approve, air and transmit the stories/clips to other locations.

Video Twister is an encoding/transcoding tool that provides format conversion between high-resolution video and Windows Media, QuickTime or Real Media for proxy viewing.
