New Russian satellite channel to follow in footsteps of Russia Today

Russian satellite channel Rusiya Al-Yaum will use the DaletPlus News Suite solution to broadcast its programs in Arabic, Dalet announced last week.

The installation will provide the new Rusiya Al-Yaum with newsroom production, playout and archiving capabilities, and work in conjunction with Omneon video servers and standard IT technology.

The DaletPlus News Suite has a successful track record in Russia at Russia Today, an English-language satellite news channel aimed at a global audience. There, it provides production and playout capabilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, delivering news and information about business, culture and sports events to 100 countries on six continents.

At Rusiya Al-Yaum, the DaletPlus News Suite will manage all aspects of the news production and playout workflow from ingest to production and on-air. Rusiya Al-Yaum is planning to inaugurate its satellite broadcasts in the first quarter of next year. Besides news and information, it will offer documentaries, talk shows, press reviews and coverage of business, cultural and sporting events.
