KSHB installs Utah master control, routing

Scripps-Howard station KSHB, an NBC affiliate in Kansas City, MO, has installed Utah HD and SD master control processors, a UTAH-400 router and an SC-4 control system.

At KSHB, a UTAH-400 router, V-288R frame-loaded HD 224 x 160 and an A-288R frame-loaded AES 224 x 160 are replacing six legacy routers. The installation also incorporates all-new master control equipment, including two MCP-2020 panels, two SD-2020 processors and two HD-2020 processors. The new master control system eliminates a cumbersome setup in which the HD switcher was on the other side of the control room. Now, KSHB operators can switch all four program streams from a single location.
