Harris previews solid-state broadcast server at NAB Show

At the 2009 NAB Show, Harris announced key enhancements to its NEXIO broadcast server portfolio and storage area network (SAN) architecture. Visitors could see a technology preview of a next-generation NEXIO server with integrated solid-state drives at the company’s booth.

Harris also demonstrated the NEXIO mCAPTURE compressed media stream recorder. NEXIO mCAPTURE allows content from transport streams — including digital satellite feeds — to be brought into the NEXIO AMP media platform without the need to decode the content to baseband. ASI and IPTV sources can be ingested from multiprogram transport stream sources and stored as a single program transport stream.
