Front Porch Digital supports SMPTE archive standards group

Front Porch Digital will adopt the new SMPTE standard for digital archive management as soon as it is approved. Broadcasters place a high value on open standard-compliant technologies. A new standards-compliant DIVArchive will enable easy content migration and sharing between the system and any other standards-compliant archive management vendors.

For the past several months, the company has worked with the SMPTE V16 Archive Ad Hoc Group (AHG) initiative. Front Porch also has been sharing lessons learned from its prior experience managing the migration of proprietary legacy archives to its own DIVArchive system.
