First tapeless channel in Spain with vsn solutions

JustEdit has installed automation at Onda Cádiz TV, news broadcaster for the Cadiz Province.

It operates in an entirely tapeless environment. Benefits include image quality, speed to air, and optimization of human resources. The channel is digitizing transmissions in advance of the analog switch off due to start soon. The solution comprises newsroom and content management based on Sony XDCAM and utilizes new vsn modules with MXF compatibility that take advantage of the features of optical disks.

The system includes the integration of vsn with Avid. Comprising five Avid Xpress Pro HD editing systems and vsnnews licenses for text editing and playlists, with 2.4TB of shared storage. Justedit also supplied a two-channel video server, vsnairnews with storage for 100 hours of video, titler vsncg and vsnprompter.

Onda Cádiz has also ordered a vsnarchive with capacity for more than 10,000 hours at low resolution.

The tapeless playout uses vsnautorec for ingest, 100 hours capacity vsnmatic playout video server and compliance recording using vsnlegalrec, with 6 months record capacity in WM9 format.
