Etere contributes to National Library of Russia archive project

The National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg has chosen Etere to supply the platform for its digital library, which will host a variety of media including AV clips, moving picture film and videos.

The assets will be stored on a redundant and fault-tolerant central storage system with a capacity of 2000 hours. The tape library stores 10,000 hours of high-resolution video on LTO-4 and AIT-3 data tape. The video format used is DVCPROHD100 wrapped as MXF OP1A. The Etere MAM provides media indexing.

The solution includes ingest and automatic key frame generation, storage management, Web access and playout facilities.
