DNF Controls to unveil Dakota
DNF Controls will exhibit a new replay control solution for on-air announcers and talent at the NAB 2009 show called the Dakota. The system offers control over numerous functions — pause, play, slow-mo forward, and slow-mo reverse — at fixed speeds on the on-air channel. Dakota automatically switches control of the on-air channel to the announcer's control panel and makes it easy to enable or disable announcer control from the production control room.
Different levels of control can be provided to various announcers and talent and the easy-to-read tally indicators let announcers know when they have that control.
Dakota is made up of existing DNF Controls components, such as its USP-8 universal switch panel, GTP-32 GPI tally processor, and SW1X8 RS422 switch.
The company will also show its Universal Automation Backup System as a reliable device for backing up primary and secondary on-air automation systems. The UABS reads playlist files from most major automation system manufacturers as well as most major traffic list files. It supports manual and time-triggered events, and provides an as-run log.
