Digital Broadcast offers total ASI server system

Digital Broadcast is now offering a full-ASI version of its MediaFire automated server system. The system provides ingest of the compressed ASI output from digital satellite receivers. The input supports MPEG-2 compressed ASI transport streams as single and multiple program transport streams.

The MediaFire ASI provides multichannel master control splicing of MPEG-2 media for direct feeds to cable or a transmitter, bypassing the need for a switcher. MediaFire’s statistical multiplexer enables simultaneous playout of HD and SD channels as well as multiple HD channels and multiple SD channels. Additionally, MediaFire ASI provides logo insertion on MPEG-2, eliminating the need for a downstream logo inserter.
