Dalet to feature archive solution at NAB2008
March 5, 2008
At NAB2008, Dalet will introduce several turnkey packages built upon its Dalet Media Library digital archive management software. These Dalet Media Library archive-in-a-box solutions are ready to rack and include software, hardware and professional services. They are specifically designed to help broadcasters archive video material in news, sports and program environments.
Broadcasters who move to tapeless ENG face a real challenge when it comes to archiving. Dumping material to hard drives with solid-state media such as Panasonic P2 or Sony SxS may solve the storage issue, but it doesn’t help with tracking the media. With support for MXF formats, the Dalet solutions bring the power of media asset management to digital archiving solutions.
Digital transfer of tape-based material is also facilitated. Interfaces to a variety of video servers ensure capture and archiving of live and satellite feeds. Automatic proxy generation of all ingest material combined with easy-to-use logging tools facilitate consistent metadata capture of archived material for future search and retrieval. And support for both online and nearline storage systems means that a wide range of archiving needs can be addressed — from a few hundred to several thousand hours. For more information, visit
