BCE releases new version of Newslink

Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE), a technical service provider of RTL, has launched the latest version of Newslink, which enables video transfers through the Internet, with its partners M6 and T-Mobile. With Newslink, a laptop, a communication card (WiFi, broadband, UMTS: HSDPA/HSUPA) and a standard DV-camera, video footage can be recorded, cut and sent out at high speed via the selected telecommunication networks to the central newsrooms within minutes, significantly reducing the time-to-air without being overloaded with expensive, hard-to-use equipment.

French TV channel M6 has been a strong contributor to the enhancement of Newslink and became the first user for coverage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
