Avid enhances Unity for HD production

At NAB2005, Avid Technology unveiled version 4.0 of its Unity MediaNetwork, the shared-storage system for editing and news applications.

The upgrades are designed to meet the needs of users editing HD files in a collaborative environment.

Highlights of version 4.0 include a 4GB Fibre Channel infrastructure; support for uncompressed HD and Avid's DNxHD compression format. Up to 20TB of capacity is built around Avid’s MEDIArray ZX4 hardware.
