Avid announces first Media Factory sales

Avid Technology Europe announces the first sales of Media Factory for broadcast. The Media Factory solution combines a range of scaleable, pre-configured tools for ingest, editing, shared storage and distribution, including Avid Unity LANshare EX, Avid NewsCutter and Avid AirSpeed, which offers regional and community broadcasters the means to create a collaborative and flexible workflow that suits their budgets.

Al Fayhaa TV, an independent Iraqi-owned satellite channel based in the United Arab Emirates, has chosen Media Factory for its entire broadcast output including live news and original programming. The system will be supplied and supported by the Avid reseller Salam Technical Services. AZ Media AG, a German media service company which produces a wide range of content from documentaries to commercials for broadcasters including RTL, n-tv, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk and Bayerischer Rundfunk, has purchased a Media Factory system for its branch in Cologne. The system will be used to create cost-effective networked environments, using the same tools that are used by leading broadcasters worldwide.
