WIVB in Buffalo, NY, seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer. Successful candidate will assist the Chief Engineer in the design, planning and implementation of broadcast equipment, will lead and supervise the broadcast technical maintenance staff, maintaining operations of technical systems and equipment ensuring proper operation, will work in concert with news and production staff, and assist with equipment operational training when necessary. Will serve as the Secondary DCO, must be familiar with pertinent FCC rules.

Applicant must have:

Minimum years with practical experience in TV engineering;

Fluency in most common TV station technologies and workflows, news production and automation, NRCS and editing systems;

Broadcast equipment system planning and installation experience;

An RF maintenance background, full power TV transmitter, STL, ENG, microwave;

Supervisory experience, will be supervising engineering maintenance staff; 

Effective communication skills and be able to interact with technical, IT, production staff and managers; 

Effective analytical skills, be able to troubleshoot and solve technical issues, occasionally under pressure; 

Strong Information Technology skills, cross over work between broadcast and IT;

Success in meeting deadlines.
