SmartSound and Sony Creative Software Sign Patent License Agreement
SmartSound Software announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Sony Creative Software to use SmartSound’s patented automated music scoring process in Sony’s Cinescore soundtrack creation product line.

Under the agreement, Sony has a non-exclusive license to two of SmartSounds patents involving the automatic editing of music to fit user-specified lengths. The patent license covers Cinescore and any current or future products that bundle Cinescore and its technology.

This and other patented technology have been used in soundtrack creation solutions like Sonicfire Pro.

"We're pleased to finalize a patent license agreement with Sony Creative Software that is mutually beneficial to both parties," said Kevin Klingler, president and CEO of SmartSound Software. "Sony Creative Software joins a list of top companies in the video creative industry which license SmartSound's technology or its patented processes for their software. This points the way for other companies to benefit from SmartSound's unique approach to music scoring by reaching license agreements with us."
