Westar Satellite Services Gives Christmas Gift To Broadcasters
To celebrate the holiday season and the opening of its New York facility, Westar Satellite Services is offering broadcasters a gift that no one will want to return. Through the end of 2005, the company is offering free digital mpeg transmissions between Dallas and Westar’s new facility at 60 Hudson Street in Manhattan. The free offer is available to Westar’s current customers, as well as any news organizations that want to experience the future in satellite broadcasting for free. Privately owned Westar Satellite Services is a North Texas based satellite communications company.

“Westar began very humbly and has come so far in less than a year,” noted Rob Tannor, CEO of Westar Satellite Services. “To thank everyone that has been part of our success and to give potential customers the opportunity to see why they should work with us, we’re making this offer during the Christmas season. It’s a deal that, while helping slash broadcasters’ costs during the holidays, can also open some eyes to what the best technology and people can deliver.”

News outlets from across the United States will be able to send an unlimited amount of video and date at a transport rate of up to 8 megabytes through Westar’s Dallas facility and New York without incurring any charge. Westar’s extensive Texas fiber network includes all the major news broadcast networks, production facilities and sporting venues in Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Waco. With this limited-time offer expiring December 31, 2005, Westar expects broadcasters to take full advantage of this opportunity.

“Westar’s free broadcast transport is on a first come, first serve basis,” Tannor added. “Many national broadcasters are already taking full advantage of our gift for the holidays. We recommend that any company which has considered using a new transport service or is seeking another option contact us to try out Westar’s capabilities while it’s gratis.”

Interested parties should contact (866) 980-7400 for more information on the offer or to set up a feed window. Additional information about the company can be found at www.westarsat.com.
