WDR upgrades Net Insight Nimbra network

Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), Germany's largest broadcaster covering an area with about 18 million people, is upgrading six major cities in its existing Net Insight Nimbra network to offer new, expanded media services.

Net Insight’s next generation switch will also facilitate the transport of mission-critical TV contribution and distribution streams, bursty IP traffic and telephony with full Quality of Service (QoS).

Net Insight’s Nimbra platform is multi-service network equipment based on next generation SDH/Sonet technology offering a solution for video, voice and data. Net Insight’s products deliver 100 percent QoS with a three-times improvement in utilization of bandwidth on a converged transport infrastructure.

See Net Insight at IBC2006 stand 3.339 or visit: www.netinsight.net.
