Ukrainian pair recognized for DVB-T rollout paper

The IBC2006 prize for the best paper presented at the conference was presented to the co-authors of a paper on the rollout of DVB service in the Ukraine.

Ivan Omelyanyuk and Yaroslav Kamakov of Kvant-Efir, Ukraine, and UDTVN JSC, Ukraine, received the honor for their paper, “Step-by-step rollout of DVB-T(H) service in Ukraine in 2006.”

The judging committee was impressed with the pair’s ability to clearly explain the rollout in an interesting manner with “a judicious balance” between technical information, practicalities and the business model behind the service launch, according to chairman of the judges David Crawford.
